Alejandra Gutierrez is the candidate our community needs
Throughout my life, I have worked tirelessly to help others. I have been a relentless voice for the less fortunate and for those in the community who need a little help to reach that next step. I have spent almost two decades supporting and educating youth and working families.
As the Executive Director of the Franklin Service Center*, I meet the needs of Eastside families every day while managing the local nonprofit on a day-to-day basis. I have seen the struggles that young people go through in our community, and believe that solving those problems will bring about systemic change for generations to come. On City Council, I will work to make sure that Santa Barbara's families have the services they need, while bringing a no-nonsense approach to local government.
I am running for City Council because I know Santa Barbara can do better. I understand the needs of the community and I continue to be passionate about ensuring the Eastside has a voice that is heard. I will rise above petty differences and growing apathy to bring people together to fix real problems. I know the challenges residents are facing, and have faced many of those same challenges in my own life. This shared experience will inform the decisions I make that affect our city: to ensure that our streets are safe; to create a better business climate that creates jobs and supports our local economy; and to find affordable housing solutions that make sense. Together, we can move Santa Barbara forward to the future this beautiful city deserves.
